Members of the public are invited to attend this event. The partial solar eclipse begins at 5:30am with the maximum partial eclipse occurring at approx. 6:30am. It will be complete by approximately 7:30am. Only rain will cancel the event. Parking is at the top of the driveway, on the lawn under the pine trees.
Mr. David Hunter a retired Medical Physicist who studies the night skies from his Florenceville-Bristol home, will be present to explain all things astronomical and the partial solar eclipse, as it progresses.
COVID-19 safety protocols will be in effect regarding masking and social distancing. Guests are invited to bring their own coffee and folding chairs and must stay within their bubble. The Town will provide protective Solar Eclipse Glasses to those in attendance to ensure safe viewing.
